Friday Finds

Here we are again, another Friday, another Friday finds. Any big plans for the weekend? I’m hoping to finish up the second of the belated birthday gifts I’ve been working on, so I can finally move on to something I can talk about here!

  • Kat at posted an excellent and incredibly detailed tutorial on designing your own colorwork mittens. You know how obsessed I am with colorwork mittens; you can consider this bookmarked and saved for future use.
  • Speaking of mittens, here’s a two-ended knitting pattern, Frigga ($6). I have no idea what two-ended knitting is! I’m tempted to buy this pattern to see if I can figure it out. Anyone have any ideas? Is it like mosaic knitting (which I’ve also never tried)? edit Lisa Shroyer, via Twitter, pointed me to this article on Knitty about two-ended knitting. Neat!

  • Cecily Glowik Macdonald’s knocked out another stunner with her Katrine Cardigan ($6). I love the unapologetic chunkiness of the Quince and Co Puffin and the subtle seed stitch edges.

  • Array (free) from Shibui Knits is a beautiful infinity cowl in two different colors and yarns. This would probably be a great project for random skeins of yarn in your stash.

  • The time of life when all of your friends are procreating is upon me. Good thing Ashley Prisbrey is here with adorable patterns of reindeer antler beanies (free) for babies!

  • Phoenix (€5) by Aoibhe Ni Shuilleabhain is a beautiful crocheted shawl with a ruffled edging and little lace panels.

  • Lisa Mutch’s Heartbreak shawl ($3.50) is the triangular shawl answer to her Heartache cowl. Both feature garter stitch on the bias with bold colors amongst a neutral background.
