Craft Fairs!

This past weekend was craft fair weekend, apparently. Saturday morning, the French Nest Open Air Market took place at the City Park in Fort Collins. A large number of vendors of all sorts of crafty and vintage varieties set up on the lawn, and a couple of friends and I set out to see them all.

Some vendors sold beautiful jewelry, others had hand sewn aprons and dresses for little girls, inspirational found-paper notebooks and professionally-styled notebooks, as well as some amazing vintage finds. I managed to pick up birthday presents for friends who have birthdays this month.

I can’t show you pictures of what I bought because the recipients may read this, but trust me, they’re fabulous finds. After wandering around the craft fair and spending money and buying fabulous cupcakes, we headed into Old Town for lunch and camaraderie before calling it a day.

The Denver Hand Made Craft Fair was Sunday morning, so I drove down into Denver for my first trip to the Mile-High City. This fair was very small, maybe ten vendors, but all of them were high quality. I spent most of my pin money on Saturday morning, but I did manage to pick up a few sweet goods.

Lovely hand-dyed fingering weight yarn from Sheared Bliss. She uses entirely natural dyes on her superwash yarn base to achieve these gorgeous, muted colors, and the yarn is super soft.

Reusable sandwich bag

I also picked up this super adorable reusable sandwich bag. It’s completely machine washable and dryer safe, and can hold a “serious” sandwich, as the girl who made it said. Unfortunately, I forgot to get her name or her Etsy site if she has one, so if you want your own, use your Google-fu!

Owing to the small nature of the fair and the fact that I’d driven about an hour and a half into Denver to go to the craft fair, I decided to walk around the park and head to the Denver Zoo. It was the perfect final outing to a fun-filled and crafty weekend.
