Friday Finds

fridayfinds

Another Friday, another opportunity to win a pattern of your choosing! Happy Hobbit month.

To win:

  • Leave a comment on each week’s Friday Finds letting me know which pattern(s) you especially like that week.
  • Make sure to include some way to contact you in that comment—email address, Ravelry username, Twitter handle, whatever, I just need to be able to let you know you’ve won.
  • Each comment must be received by 9:00 AM MST the following Monday. So for this week’s post, you must comment before 9:00 AM MST on Monday, December 24.
  • Winners will be chosen by random number generator the following Monday. I’ll contact that week’s winner and we’ll work out the details.
  • The prize pattern is not limited to the patterns included in the Friday Finds. Patterns are limited to digital versions, though not only Ravelry-accessible patterns. Any pattern from your personal wishlist (under $7) could be yours.

Fast and furious this week, as I’m busy trying to get my act together before I get on a plane.

Week 2 Contest Winner!

Thanks to everyone who commented on last week’s Friday Finds to enter the contest! We’ve got two more weeks of Friday Finds to go, that’s two more chances to win a pattern if your name is not… Craftie Allie!

contest2

Allie, you’re this week’s winner of a pattern, so let me know which one you’d like!

There’s a lot of stuff happening that I haven’t shown you yet—hopefully I’ll be able to get some of this personal backlog cleared out this week and next, so I can start the new year with a cleanish slate.

Contest winner!

Thanks to everyone who left a comment letting me know what they liked from last week’s Friday Finds! It’s great to get feedback and know that people are enjoying the feature. A quick update to the contest rules going forward—because I am not the night owl I would like to be (if I didn’t have to get up early for work, I’d easily be up until 1 or 2 am every night), the contests will close by 9:00 am MST the Monday after the Friday Finds post. I don’t think this will affect things too much, as no one commented on that post on Sunday, and I got one post early this morning, before I’d closed the contest.

Anyway, that’s not what you want to hear about.

The Random Number Generator gods have spoken and Joyatee is our lucky winner this week!! I hope everyone comes back this Friday for another chance to win a pattern of your choosing!

In other news, you’ll notice there was no Photo 365 post yesterday. I got busy with work and slipped up this past week and missed a few days of photos. I think I’m going to put this on the backburner for a little bit and probably start over again with the New Year—things will be slower at work and I am going to set alerts and be very diligent. Yes.

In other other news, I made these cookies this weekend, and if you’ve got any cookie swaps or really, any reason at all to make cookies, make those. I used regular Hershey’s cocoa powder and they’re amazing. (Except, move “Preheat oven” to the beginning of the second paragraph, and I found the dough didn’t come together that well and I had to add a bit of water, so try three large eggs or maybe two extra large eggs.)

Ghosts eBook winner!

Thank you to everyone who commented on the contest post and entered to win the Ghosts eBook from Canary Knits! The Random Number generator has spoken and the lucky winner is…

Suzanne

Suzanne, please email me at threadpanda at gmail dot com before the end of day on Monday, October 22 to claim your prize.

Thanks again to everyone who entered! Enjoy your weekend, whatever you’re up to.

And now, a little plug

My buddy Allyson over at the Sweatshop of Love is celebrating her five-year bloggaversary with some amazing giveaways and a great sale on all her patterns. I don’t want to give anything away, but you should definitely head over to her blog to see what’s what.

For the next few days, she’s giving away her Loop Entrelac Tank pattern and the yarn to knit it! As you may remember, I knit my own Loop Entrelac Tank last year, and I loved every second of it. Entrelac was new to me, but Allyson’s directions for working entrelac were really easy to follow. I can’t wait for the weather to just nudge up a bit so I can wear mine again.

Happy Blog Birthday, Allyson! Here’s to many more. 🙂
