As you know, I’ve been trying to get a multitude of projects done on self-imposed deadlines. So far, so good. I’m currently working on my Berkshire Dolman sweater—finished the front, about half done with the back, and then I’ll just need to do the cowl and the cuffs! But the problem with knitting on a deadline, even your own, is that sometimes you forget to enjoy and, more importantly for a blog, document the process. I enjoy the knitting, but there is always this sense of “must keep knitting must keep knitting” going on in the back of my mind (well, sometimes; at other times, I’m watching a good movie and can turn that little voice off).
At the same time, it’s hard to document the process when there’s no sunlight whatsoever when you’re actually able to work on things. For instance, one of the projects I’m working on is this scarf for a friend, using scraps of yarn from my Bandelier socks.
This photo turned out okay, but the only real light source is actually coming from my Christmas tree, and I had to doctor it in post-processing to make the colors look somewhat natural. But you can see that I sacrificed a lot of quality for it.
So between forgetting to take time to document the process, a personal persnicketiness when it comes to photo qualities, and a lack of time on the weekends to take photos when there is light, things might be kind of quiet for a little while.
